Welcome to our first edition of The EverKem Caulk Talk Newsletter, where we talk about all things caulk, sealants, adhesives, and construction chemical products. Even though our industry (and the world) is experiencing tumultuous times, I am super excited to finally introduce this newsletter and bring you all in on the Everkem story and what we want to share with the world. This has been a project in my heart and mind for many years and we hope that through Caulk Talk, we will become your trusted source for the most up-to-date information in sealant, adhesion, and firestopping science; Caulkologist recommended application tricks and tips; sealant and adhesive industry trends; and everything else that is new and exciting in the wonderful world of Caulkology and Everkem Diversified Products.
For those who do not know me yet, my name is Jason Lynch and I started Everkem with my business partner Lin almost 25 years ago. Lin had recently sold his restaurant business and started a small factory and asked me to come up with a product line and try to sell it. We worked together to manufacture and pioneer the first ASTM-E136 Fireblocking Caulk for filling the penetrations around wires, pipes, and other ceiling and floor openings within the wall cavities in single-family new construction. In the year 2000, Flame Tech Inc was born with our first introduction of Fire Caulk 136 Single Family Fireblocking Caulk.
Over time, Everkem grew to be made up of a close-knit tribe of diverse individuals from all walks of life. From what seems like against all odds, we have somehow come together at this particular place and time with our unique chemistry of people and products and the vision of creating something awesome. Whether that something awesome comes in a caulk tube, a cup, pail, or bottle – it is made from the hands and hearts of our Everkem Team.
What started with a concrete mixer, a 35-gallon hydraulic press, and a handmade spring-loaded jig to insert the plungers into the back of our caulk tubes has now become much more than ever imagined. After just moving to a new facility in our beautiful little city of Winston-Salem, NC, I am thankful to tell you that we are finally here, and we are just now getting started.
In this quarter’s newsletter, we bring you up-to-date information on the challenges we are all facing due to post-Covid supply chain constraints and chemical shortages. We’ll take a look back on our move to our new facility, introduce you to an amazing teammate, Tony “Sell Hard” Celhar, as well as spotlight an often-overlooked product set.
I hope you enjoy our Caulk Talk newsletter as much as we enjoyed creating the content. To bring this information to you, we had to live it for the past 25 years and this is just the beginning. I am really passionate about our industry, our products, and our people while understanding and enjoying the process of sales, building a great company, and creating a network of like-minded associates and friends. I believe that ideas and connections make for great things to happen. If you would like to reach out to me personally, please connect with me on LinkedIn or Instagram. I also invite you to give us a call, visit us on LinkedIn or send us an email. Thank you very much!
