Jason’s Welcome

Quarter 1
2024

Jason Lynch at his deskWelcome to Everkem’s first 2024 edition of the Caulk Talk newsletter – where we talk about all things caulk, sealants, adhesives, and construction chemical products.

In this issue, we’ll offer an inside look into how Everkem is growing our brand globally and partnering with some of the most reputable companies in the world.

We’ll discuss associations Everkem has recently joined, meet our newest (and littlest) member of the team, introduce you to one of our Territory Managers, and share some exciting product updates!

“I think I’ll go home now…”

The moment business owners realize the team’s commitment to the company’s vision, and the owner’s responsibility to create long-term stability and succession for the team.

Everkem is Running on EOS

Four years ago this month, Everkem moved our offices and manufacturing facility from a small 26,000 sq. ft. metal building to a 48,000 sq. ft. brick-and-mortar manufacturing facility, equipped to build the infrastructure needed to scale-up operations and grow the business. At that time, we employed 13 people in production and 7 people in the offices, including myself and business partner, Chin Lin.  We started the move the week the Governor instituted the COVID-19 lockdown in North Carolina. It was a challenging time, but nothing would stop us from moving, regardless of what it took to tear down operations, transport everything 20 minutes across town, and build our new facility. Our goals were to upgrade our operations, start production as quickly as possible and minimize potential disruptions.

March 13th 2020 – Chin Lin (CEO and Owner) and some of our production team on day 1 of our move. Tearing down our old facility

As a passionate team of self-learners and doers, we accomplished everything ourselves with little outside help. As a result, we endured our share of stress and challenges over the past 4 years. Each day, I am thankful to have a great team committed to doing “Whatever it Takes” to make this Everkem Experience a reality.

Starting the 2nd quarter of 2024, I am thankful to say we have weathered the storm of post-COVID related issues, and have built a team of 34 people strong, ready to take the next steps forward. Everkem is committed to growing our brand globally and partnering with some of the most reputable companies in the world. This commitment requires a comprehensive self-assessment of where we are today, and where we want to be tomorrow. To best address Everkem’s real-time challenges, we need to upgrade the capacity of our team, and implement the newest best practices and processes used by world-class organizations. To do this, we have embraced the recommendations of several of our customers and partners: Everkem has begun our journey of “Running on EOS.”

Entrepreneurial Operating Systems (EOS) is a people-driven operating system that organizes and leverages human energy. It’s the way Everkem now meets, solve problems, plans, and prioritizes. EOS amplifies Everkem’s discipline to create and follow processes, communicate clearly, clarify roles, and to lead, monitor and manage. Like many other made-from-scratch entrepreneurial companies, we have demonstrated ingenuity and resilience, and have offered our customers solutions using a home-grown and unique operating system. This system has served us well, but the challenges our goals demand require Everkem to do something new: stop working IN the business and start working ON the business.

As owners, Lin and I want to ensure that Everkem’s people work with passion and purpose, and build careers that lead to long-term security. We need to ensure that Everkem remains prosperous long after we have moved on to enjoy retirement. As Everkem embarks on this EOS journey, we will introduce new ideas and strategies that will bring clarity to our process and synergy to our team. We are excited to learn and leverage a system used by more than 50,000 other companies. In the coming months, we will implement a framework that will align and unify our team, bring clarity to our vision, and bring the rhythm and consistency of a well-oiled machine.

Please stay tuned! We are excited to share Everkem’s progress, insights and continuous improvements with you. We are committed to being the best at the Craft of Caulk and doing “Whatever it Takes” to serve you better than anyone else in this industry.
